QR Code Analytics: More Accurate Locations and a New World Map

QR Code Generator analytics are now more accurate and much easier to understand at a glance.

More Accurate Location Data

Previously, QR code scans were mainly grouped by country. Analytics can now include an estimated city and region as well, giving you a much clearer idea of where your QR codes are being scanned.

The location detection system has also been improved to use multiple trusted data sources and fallbacks. This helps reduce incorrect country results, such as scans from Hungary being incorrectly displayed as coming from the United Kingdom.

Location data is still based on IP-derived estimates, so it may not always represent the visitor’s exact physical location.

New World Map View

A new interactive world map has been added to QR code analytics.

You can now immediately see which countries your QR codes are being scanned from and identify your strongest locations without having to manually compare individual statistics.

The map makes it much easier to understand your QR code’s global reach, whether it is being used for marketing campaigns, printed materials, events, products, or business locations.

Built with Privacy in Mind

The improved analytics were designed to provide useful insights without storing unnecessary personal data.

ReadyTools does not store raw IP addresses or raw visitor identifiers. Visitor and session identifiers are converted into protected cryptographic hashes, while location information is stored only as an IP-based estimate.

Referrer data is limited to the website origin, rather than saving the complete visited URL. The analytics system also does not use browser fingerprinting or session replay.

Bots are detected and excluded from normal scan analytics, helping keep the results more accurate and relevant.

This update gives you more detailed QR code analytics while keeping data collection limited to what is needed to provide the feature.
