Lara Agent, Chat Upgrades, and Notifications Land in ReadyTools Workspace

ReadyTools Workspace received its largest August update on August 30, delivering the full Lara Agent experience, a significantly upgraded chat layer, a new notification backbone, and a long list of editor refinements that collectively make daily work smoother.

Lara Agent is now fully available

Lara Agent moves out of preview with three context modes that change how the assistant interacts with your pages. Choose No page context when you want a general answer, Use page context to let Lara read the current page, or Deep page context for a more thorough review before responding. The same flow works when you paste a URL - Lara reads that exact page instead of searching the web on keywords. Web search remains a separate capability.

Agent mode runs on GPT-5.6 Luna, improving instruction following and language consistency. Crucially, every Agent action can now be rolled back. After Lara makes changes, a Rollback button appears under the message so you can revert instantly if the result isn't what you wanted. Agent mode requires a Plus plan; the context modes and URL reading work on Free as well.

Workspace Chat becomes a real collaboration layer

Chat now shows typing indicators and read receipts, so conversations feel responsive instead of asynchronous. A new Chat Info area centralizes message search, shared media browsing, and chat deletion for owners. Links in messages are automatically underlined, and a full emoji picker replaces the old limited reaction set - any emoji can be used as a reaction via the new + button. Mobile chat received larger controls, better spacing, and more comfortable bubbles.

Blocks and chat are now connected. From a block's menu you can share that block directly into a conversation; selecting the reference jumps straight to the original block. This keeps discussions anchored to the exact paragraph, task, or table under review. A red mention counter on the Chat icon surfaces unread mentions, tied to the new notification preferences so it only appears when relevant notifications are enabled.

A notification system built for scale

The new notification system handles both personal events (mentions, chat activity) and global announcements without creating millions of duplicate records. Personal notifications are generated individually; global updates use a lightweight campaign architecture that only creates per-user state when someone actually interacts. Delivery is real-time and reconciles automatically after reconnects, with rate limiting, deduplication, and mention cooldowns to prevent spam. Desktop gets a compact popover; mobile gets a dedicated interface.

Smaller changes that remove daily friction

  • Sharing and invites: Active invite links are now visible in the Share dialog so you can revoke access cleanly. View-only permissions are enforced more strictly.
  • Upload limits: The fixed 50 MB ceiling is gone. Maximum upload size now follows your ReadyTools plan.
  • YouTube embeds: A lone YouTube URL in a block renders as a clean standalone embed instead of being wrapped in a text bubble.
  • Markdown copy: Individual blocks can be copied as Markdown from the block menu, preserving structure for reuse in other tools or AI prompts.
  • AI in Math blocks: Lara can now help generate or structure mathematical expressions directly inside Math blocks.
  • Boards: Card creation asks for the title up front, eliminating the rename step.
  • Editor polish: Multi-block selection is smoother, table name editing no longer skips characters, pasted URLs stay on the same line, and duplicate user info beside blocks is fixed.
  • Context handling: Pasted URLs in chat remain normal links; webpage context is only invoked through Lara's dedicated flow.
