Workspace Adds Wide Board Mode, Faster Tables, and Cleaner Shared Pages

The Board block in ReadyTools Workspace can now expand into a dedicated wide layout, giving large Kanban boards, sprint plans, and complex workflows the horizontal space they need. Instead of being constrained by the standard document width, the board becomes the primary focus of the page, making it practical to manage projects that previously felt cramped.

Wide Board Mode

When a board grows beyond a handful of columns, the regular content width forces constant horizontal scrolling or compressed cards. The new wide mode removes that constraint. A single toggle expands the board to fill the available viewport, so teams can see more columns at once, drag cards across longer distances without losing context, and keep the full workflow visible during planning sessions. This works for product launches, engineering sprints, content calendars, and any board that benefits from extra width.

Table Editing Performance

Large tables have historically slowed down when dragging to add rows or columns because the editor rebuilt the entire table on every pixel of movement. That behavior is gone. Now a lightweight visual indicator follows the drag, and the actual rows or columns are created only after the mouse is released. The result is noticeably smoother dragging, reduced editor lag, and a more responsive feel on tables with dozens of rows and columns. A related fix prevents browser text selection from triggering during drag operations, which previously caused additional slowdowns inside the editor.

Cleaner Shared Pages

Shared Workspace pages now hide actions that viewers cannot use. Upload, delete, and other editing controls no longer appear in the shared view, leaving only the navigation and reading tools that are actually relevant. This simplifies the experience for stakeholders, clients, or teammates who only need to review content, and it removes the confusion of seeing disabled or unavailable buttons.

How It Fits Into the Workspace

These changes arrive inside ReadyTools Workspace, the connected environment where notes, files, AI assistance, real-time collaboration, and publishing live together. The wide board mode supports the project planning and team coordination use cases that Workspace is built for, the table improvements make structured data work practical at scale, and the cleaner shared view aligns with the publishing controls that let teams share selected pages publicly without exposing the editing surface.

Who Benefits

Product managers running multi-column sprint boards, researchers comparing data across wide tables, and anyone sharing finished pages with external reviewers will notice the difference immediately. The updates are available now to all Workspace users and require no configuration - wide mode is a per-board toggle, table performance is automatic, and shared pages adopt the cleaner view by default.
