A good palette name helps people find and remember the palette. A good description explains where the palette works best.

Name limits

The palette name field is limited to 32 characters. Keep the name short, specific, and readable. Avoid names that are too generic, such as Nice Colors or Palette 1.

Description limits

The description field is limited to 320 characters. Use it to describe the palette mood, intended project type, or design context.

Examples

  • Name: Midnight Finance; description: A dark, trustworthy palette for dashboards, fintech apps, and analytics tools.
  • Name: Soft Garden; description: Gentle greens and warm neutrals for wellness, home, and editorial layouts.
  • Name: Retro Signal; description: High-energy vintage colors for posters, music visuals, and playful landing pages.

Naming tip

Use words that describe both color mood and use case. That makes search and browsing more useful.
