How to check accessibility and contrast in Chromo

Use Chromo's Accessibility section to check contrast on white and black backgrounds and preview color vision simulations.

The Accessibility section helps you decide whether a color is readable and usable. It checks contrast against white and black backgrounds and shows color vision simulations.

WCAG contrast cards

Chromo shows a contrast ratio and AA or AAA indicators for small text and large text. Higher contrast generally means better readability.

Color vision simulation

The simulation cards show how the color may appear under different color vision conditions. Use this to avoid relying only on subtle hue differences.

Practical rule

If a color fails on a background, do not force it for text. Use it as an accent, border, icon, or background instead.
